A woman identified as Shadan Sultana Nizami (27) was arrested by the Abids police for allegedly harassing and extorting money from men after getting into a relationship with them. So far, she extorted money from 26 persons from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: A woman identified as Shadan Sultana Nizami (27) was arrested by the Abids police for allegedly harassing and extorting money from men after getting into a relationship with them. So far, she extorted money from 26 persons from Hyderabad.

According to police, a complaint has been lodged by one Abdul Raheem (26), stating that a woman named Sultana had harassed him and extorted money by blackmailing that she would file a false rape complaint against him.

On receipt of the complaint police registered a case under sections 384, 385 and 195 (A) IPC and took up investigation.

Investigation revealed that the accused, who completed her studies recently had visited complainant's office in June 2018, and later got into a relationship.

In August 2018 Raheem transferred Rs 3 lakh to her account. Later, she again demanded Rs 5 lakh, for which the complainant denied. The accused started blackmailing Raheem, depressed over her harassment he attempted suicide on 25 October.

Police said, accused harassed 26 people so far and also lodged false complainants on all the 26 people. Abids police after collecting evidences nabbed the accused on Thursday and remanded her in judicial custody.
