Bhongir: District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr Sambasiva Rao on Thursday confirmed that Zilla Parishad top official and his wife were tested corona positive after testing their blood samples at AIIMS in Bibi Nagar on Wednesday and they were under home quarantine in Hyderabad. Health department officials were enquiring the primary contacts of ZP top official.

With this, the employees of ZP and Collectorate became panic and people's representatives, who met him recently.

It came to know that the official along with the District Collector and other officials participated in a video conference on June 5 and went to his house in Hyderabad. After suspecting corona symptoms, the officer along with his wife went for corona tests. The duo was directed for home quarantine in Hyderabad after their test results came positive.

Meanwhile, District Collector Anita Ramachandran, as a precautionary measure, decided to undergo home quarantine voluntarily for a week.

As per the official information, 10 corona positive cases were registered so far. Eight patients were undergoing treatment in government quarantine and 198 persons are in home quarantine.
