Next Education India, an e-learning Technology company, has launched the MathsLab, a Maths e-learning product which helps students develop insights into mathematical concepts with experiential learning.

Based on the ideology of 'LAB' (Learn - Analyze Build), MathsLab is a platform where children can do various activities, projects and simulations to discover mathematical ideas and validate formulae. The aim is to merge the three aspects of Maths education - teacher sessions, student practice and hands-on activities.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Beas Dev Ralhan, CEO of the company stated, "The use of boards, note books and instructional learning often do not address the Maths needs of a class of diverse students. With the MathsLab's multi-dimensional features, teachers can use the tool to introduce, clarify and reinforce different critical math concepts to students across classes."

Complying with NCERT and NCF guidelines, the MathsLab caters to all school boards such as CBSE and ICSE in India. It is helpful to students across KG to Class X.The company has used pedagogically appropriate learning methodologies to create over 1000 activities across all classes, based on age group and learning needs of the students. MathsLab features a narrative story-based approach with real-life significance for young students to get motivated to crack maths problems and have fun in the process.

Since Mathematics is an abstract subject (wherein complex concepts can't be demonstrated physically in class) contextualising the concepts is integral for students to feel confident on the subject. MathsLab also offers activities in the form of simulations where students identify solutions to various supposed scenarios.

Research has shown that students are able to retain, relate to concepts and recall them effectively when it is explained with physical models. The company has developed various hands-on paper cutting activities using various physical models. MathsLab also consists of kits popularly known as 'manipulative'. The comprehensive manipulative kit includes more than forty physical models that can be used to do around 200 activities.
