AP state Health Department issues Health Bulletin over measures to control COVID-19

In the wake of fast-spreading Coronavirus disease across the 75 countries including India, the government is taking several measures to control the effect. In the meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government, which found two Coronavirus suspected cases on Wednesday have been alerted and has strengthened the surveillance at all airports for containment, control and prevention of COVID-19.

According to the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 330 passengers from COVID-19 affected countries have been identified and placed under surveillance while 102 people are placed under isolation wards and 216 people completed the 28 days observation period.

It also stated that out of 23 blood samples sent for examinations, twelve tested negative and remaining awaits the results.

However, in the latest development, the state control room director of health and Family Welfare has set up a 24x7 control room and Isolation wards at all Government General Hospitals and District Hospitals. The administration also revealed the do and don'ts to prevent the virus.

Here are the advisory tips for the general public

The public should mandatorily follow the cough etiquette by covering the nose and mouth using handkerchief /towel while sneezing/coughing while in the gatherings.

Need to wash the hands with soap at frequent interval.

On the other hand, it also suggested the foreign returnees to strictly stick to the home till 28 days after return irrespective of whether they have the symptoms or not. They are advised to put on masks and contact vtge nearest government hospital if found with symptoms like cough, fever, difficulty in breathing are developed.
