BIMSTEC meet bats for Ease of Doing Business in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: The two-day BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) was concluded here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Chennai Port P Raveendran said that ports play a key role in the economic growth of the nation. He called for collective efforts from the stakeholders to improve the Ease of Doing Business.
Among others Customs Principal Commissioner D K Srinivas, Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust K Rama Mohan Rao and Chairman of Paradip Port Rinkesh Roy addressed the gathering.
Beach clean-up drive
In the morning, Union Minister of State for Shipping (Independent charge) took part in Swachh Bharat programme held at RK Beach. The Minister was accompanied by Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman K Rama Mohan Rao and Deputy Chairman P L Haranadh, former MP K Haribabu, among others.Representatives from the member nations of BIMSTEC also joined the cleanliness drive.
