Joint collector flags off awareness rally

Eluru: District joint collector B Lavanyaveni called upon everyone to get involved in conservation of energy to achieve development. She flagged off an awareness rally here on Thursday to mark Energy Conservation week, to be observed from December 14 to 21.

Speaking on the occasion, she said it is the collective responsibility of all to save energy for future generations.

Various programmes are being conducted during the week, she said. Competitions for students in painting, essay-writing, elocution and other subjects will be conducted.

She urged people to use energy to suit the necessity and not waste it. Use of LED bulbs will help in saving energy at domestic level.

People should use star rated electric appliances to save energy. For a sustainable future, energy conservation is crucial, she elaborated.
