Thousands throng Ramateertham temple

Ramateertham (Vizianagaram): Srirama Navami festival is celebrated at Ramateertham temple in Nellimarla mandal of Vizianagaram district on Sunday in a grand manner. Thousands of devotees thronged the venue to witness the Seetharama Kalyanam and offered prayers to God Srirama.

Former Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the hereditary trustee of the temple, offered silk robes to God Srirama and Sita Devi. Temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the programme and huge number of devotees from several areas of the state participated in the festival. The temple management arranged Maha Annaprasadam to the devotees.

Meanwhile journalists in the district staged a dharna in front of the temple alleging that the priests and management of temple have restricted them from entering temple to cover the programme. They stated that some trustees have pushed them out of the temple. They demanded apology from temple management.
