Hyderabad: Sushakti in full flow at dance festival

Hyderabad: As part of the Inter DPS cultural event organised by The Delhi Public School Society, DPS Nacharam hosted the Zone-7, Inter DPS Dance Festival- Nrityanjali -2019 on August 2. The contesting school had to select any one form of Indian classical dance. The theme chosen was – 'Sushakti' – Empowered Women of History/Mythology.

The programme started with a welcome address by the Principal Sunitha Rao. The Senior Headmistress and programme coordinator I Sudha spelt out the rules and instructions. Twelve schools participated in the contest and gave spirited performances. The competition was stiff but DPS Nacharam bagged the 1st position and deservingly so. The 2nd and 3rd position went to DPS Mangalore and DPS Bangalore North respectively.

All the three school are qualified to participate in the national level competition which will be held later this year. Sub category prizes were awarded for Best Choreography, Best Props and Best Synchronisation. The Judges Critical Acclaim went to DPS, Electronic City. The performances were judged by very eminent personalities from the field of dance. The judges were highly impressed with the young dancers.

M. Komariah, Chairman of DPS Nacharam and Pallavi, Director DPS Nacharam gave away the prizes at the Valediction Programme held in the evening.
