Living hellish conditions

Panduranga Nagar: Panduranga Nagar Colony is a fairly well-developed in Moti Nagar if you exclude the slum situated at the far-end of the colony. This small area also serves as a link between the nearby Bharat Nagar MMTS station and the rest of the colony.

The commuters are seen littering the area on their way to the station and back. Combine that waste with the open sewer canal in the community and it is a living hell for the local residents. Pavan Kumar, a local resident who lives near the open canal, says "When it rains, it's the worst.

The canal overflows and sometimes snakes are crawling all over the place. I had killed a snake in my home too." On being asked if they had made any complaints, he said"For three years the authorities have been assuring us that they would cover up the canal but there is no progress on this front."
