MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated a youth festival organised by the Krishna District Youth Services Department at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that youth festivals would help bring out hidden talent of youngsters and uphold the rich culture and heritage of the country. He exhorted youth to showcase their talent at the festival by participating in various competitions to be held as part of the event. The winners of the competitions held at the district level youth festival will be eligible to participate in the State and national level youth festival.

Later, he gave away prizes to the winners of Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Manipuri, Carnatic vocal, Hindustani vocal, flute, mridangam, veena, sitar, tabla, guitar, harmonium, elocution and mono-action competitions conducted in the city on December 11 and 12.
