The week-long classical music festival to mark music legend ‘Gayaka Sarvabhouma’ Parupalli Ramakrishnaiah Pantulu’s 135th birthday celebrations concluded at the Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here on Saturday. On the concluding day, the direct disciple of Ramakrishnaiah Pantulu and noted violinist Annavarapu Ramaswamy exhibited his skill on the violin.

Vijayawada: The week-long classical music festival to mark music legend ‘Gayaka Sarvabhouma’ Parupalli Ramakrishnaiah Pantulu’s 135th birthday celebrations concluded at the Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College here on Saturday.
On the concluding day, the direct disciple of Ramakrishnaiah Pantulu and noted violinist Annavarapu Ramaswamy exhibited his skill on the violin.

The concert was well received by the music lovers who attended the event. Ramaswamy played the compositions of Thyagarajaswamy, Deekshitar. The programme was supported by P Nandakumar, Hemadri Chandrakanth on violin, Parupalli Subbaraya Phalgun on mridangam and M Haribabu on ghatam.

On this occasion, Annavarapu Ramaswamy said that the celebrations were to remember his Guru Ramakrishnaiah Pantulu. He also reminisced on his musical journey and shared the greatness of Pantulu with the audience.

Modumudi Sudhakar, the General Secretary of Parupalli Ramakrishaniah Pantulu Sangeeta parishad conducted the programme.
