Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) principal Dr S Suryanarayana Raju has said that the institution adopted as many as 12 villages in Rajanagaram mandal through NSS volunteers as part of the Swachh Andhra Pradesh programme.

Speaking to reporters on GIET premises here on Friday, he said that the Swachh Andhra Pradesh programme would benefit a lot to the people was aimed at maintaining cleanliness in the respective villages.

The villages adopted are Rajanagaram, Kanavaram, Pallakadiyam, Thokada, Farozellipeta, Srirampuram, Srikrishnapatnam, Kalavacharla, Seetharampuram, Narendrapuram, Nandarada and East Gonagudem.

NSS volunteers would take part in the Swachh Andhra Pradesh programme till January 2018, he added.
