The students of QIS College of Engineering and Technology collected Rs 11,442 and handed over the money to police department through their principal, Dr Kilari Veeraswamy while Dr CV Subbarao of the QIS Institute of Technology handed over the collected Rs 4,163. The police officials explained that the donations would be used for the rehabilitation of the personnel and families of the police department.

The college secretary and correspondent, Nidamanuri Surya Kalyan Chakravarti and chairman Nidamanuri Nageswara Rao said that it was the responsibility of each civilian to take care of the families of police forces as a tribute to the personnel who lost their lives in fight with the anti-social elements.

“Police Martyrs Day was an opportunity to remember and pay respects to the police personnel who fought for the safety of common people in the country,” they said. They appreciated the NSS departments and the candidates of the colleges for participating in the fund raising programme.
