Tirupati: Former MP  Chinta Mohan sought public apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi before his visit the State. Chinta Mohan led a dharna before TTD Administrative building here on Monday and addressed the gathering.

He said Modi betrayed the people of the State by not fulfilling the assurances given in the AP Reorganisation Act and hence has no moral right to visit the State. He should first tender his apology to the people of the State before putting his   foot on the soil of the State, the senior leader said lambasting the Prime Minister for ignoring development in Andhra Pradesh.

It may be noted here that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting to be organised by State BJP in Guntur on January 6. The dharna was held to press the State and Central governments to take up the development initiatives approved during UPA II regime. This include construction of Dugaraja patnam port which will pave the way for development of Nellore and Chittoor districts,’’ he said.

He also demanded the government to take up housing project that was sanctioned five years ago to provide double bedroom houses to the homeless poor living in the slums in the pilgrim city. He also demanded special entry for locals for darshan on festive days including January 1.
