Japan trade team visits GITAM

Visakhapatnam: Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) team headed by Assistant Director Shuya Enokibori visited GITAM Deemed to be University here on Tuesday. JETRO is a government-related organisation working to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. The JETRO team interacted with GITAM In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna, Registrar Prof K VGD Balaji and others.

While interacting with the university officials JETRO Assistant Director Shuya Enokibori informed that Japan companies which are operating in India are planning to recruit engineering students for their operational requirements. He also mentioned that there is an immediate demand for more than 2, 00,000 IT professionals in from India. He expressed that India can bridge IT staff shortage in Japan.  He invited the suggestions from GITAM officials for continuous recruitment. 

GITAM In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna observed that JETRO’s announcement indicates that the future looks optimistic for Indian IT professionals. He informed that GITAM Deemed to be University expanded to three states and training human resources as per industry requirement. This year the campus placements have already crossed 2000 . He further mentioned that the university is giving equal importance to study foreign languages which include Japanese language. He said that the university is offering innovative programmes like MBA FinTech which attracted Singapore and US companies. 

GITAM School of International Business (GSIB) Director Prof Y Goutam Rao informed that GSIB is offering MBA programmes in International Business, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, International Banking. GITAM Institute of Management Principal Prof P Sheela briefed that the institute is offering international accounting programmes along with UG courses. GITAM Institute of Technology Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad, Institute of Pharmacy Principal Prof S Ganapathi, International Affairs Director KP Kishan, GITAM FinTech Academy Director Leben Johnson, JETRO Business Development Officer VV Babu and others participated in the discussion.
