Yoganand signs affidavit on election promises

Serilingampally: G Yoganand, Serilingampally BJP candidate, filed an affidavit stating that he would be responsible for implementing all the poll promises and plan of action. Speaking on the occasion, he said he would follow the plan of action which was declared by him during elections and promising to address all the local issues if elected to the seat. He is the first candidate of any major party to sign on a bond paper and this may be considered as victory of people of the constituency. Local NGO ‘Forum to improve things’ (FIT) has prepared the affidavit which includes seven main demands of the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Yoganand said that he is confident of keeping up of promises he made to people of the constituency and therefore signed the affidavit without any hesitation. “This proves my commitment to people,” he added. He said that he would make untiring effort to fulfill all the promises included in the manifesto. Sridhar Ukkalam, representative of FIT, congratulated Yoganand for coming forward to take up the responsibility. This shows BJP candidate’s zeal towards addressing public issues, he said. 

BJP candidate unveils constituency manifesto G Yoganand, BJP candidate for Serilinampally, released a special manifesto for the constituency, first such constituency-level manifesto by any candidate in the Telangana elections, at Raddison Hotel, Hi-Tech city on Sunday. The manifesto clearly lists various initiatives to be taken up for developing the constituency and their execution.  

The manifesto speaks of various issues to be addressed such as improving underground drainage system, finding permanent solutions for traffic issues, extension of Metro services, bus shuttle services from Metro stations, drinking water to every house, housing for eligible candidates and handing over of vacant houses constructed by government to beneficiaries. It also includes measures to bring all the government offices to single location to improve ease and transparency of governance. It also mentions measures to be taken up to improve cleanliness, improvement of roads, bridges and flyovers and their maintenance. Providing basic facilities, improvement of burial grounds, and providing cheap generic medicines also are included in the manifesto. 

Speaking on the occasion, Yoganand said that although the state government has been receiving high revenues from the constituency, it failed to allocate the required funds for the development of the constituency. He demanded the revenue received from the area be spent only for its development. He criticized TDP and TRS parties of indulging of empty talk rather than showing their commitment towards the constituency. He appealed people to give an opportunity to BJP to witness real development in the constituency. BJP party senior leaders B Ashok, Gnanendra Prasad, other leaders and activists attended the meeting.
