Several women Congress activists switch to TRS

Quthbullapur: TRS candidate KP Vivekanand participated in a campaign organised by local Corporator Mantri Satyanarayana here in New Shapurnagar on Monday. The slogans like “The car shouldn’t stop” and “Driver shouldn’t change” were shouted throughout the campaign. Vivekanand urged voters to keep in view the development and welfare measures taken up by the TRS government before voting on December 7. He advised them to also note that people have been free of problems  related to power during the TRS regime, and warned that if PF was voted to power, the dark days were sure to return. 

The candidate alleged that the Peaple’s Front (PF) leaders were doling out promises only to secure votes. He questioned the rights of PF to seek votes, urging people to teach PF leaders a lesson and drive them away. He appealed to the people to back the car symbol and to ensure his victory with a huge majority.

Meanwhile, 150 women Congress activists, under the leadership of Telganana State Ambedkar Sangham vice-president Jayamma, joined TRS at its Chintal Office. Vivekanand was also present on the occasion. The newcomers said that they were attracted by the pink party’s development agenda. The women asserted that they would back TRS for finding a permanent solution to the water shortage problem. The TRS candidate said the state government had ‘achieved many successes in its endeavors that many thought were impossible’. Noting that further development and implementation of welfare schemes were possible only under TRS rule, he appealed to the voters not to believe the tall claims and false promises of the opposition parties.
