Collector asks people to follow footsteps of Gandhiji in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Everyone should strive to achieve the aspirations of Mahatma Gandhi, District Collector M Rammohan Rao said paying tributes to Bapu on his 150th jayanti in Nizamabad on Wednesday.
He asked the people to follow in the footsteps of Gandhiji. The youth should interest in cleanliness and eschew from drinking and believe in non-violence. Rammohan recalled that the State government had enacted the new Panchayati Raj Act for the sake of village swayam. The Collector said the 30-day special plan is being implemented to keep the village clean and green. With the active participation of the public representatives and the people the event was successful. The District Collector urged the people to reduce the plastic use.
District Collector, Collector M Rammohan Rao paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in Nizamabad on Wednesday paid homage to the statue of Gandhi. Nizambad Revenue Divisional Officer Venkateshwar, Advocate Gangareddy Municipal Commissioner John Samson, municipal engineers Rasheed, Anand and others participated.
Later, the statue of Lal Bahadur Shastri on Tilak Road was also unveiled by the Collector, JC, Mayor, RD, OD and RDO.
