Hyderabad: Activists of DJS detained in view of Babri Masjid demolition day
The police on Sunday took five of activists of Darsgah-Jihad-O-Shahadat into preventive custody from various places in the city in the view of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary today. DJS president Abdul Majeed was also among the five people who were detained.
All the five were shifted to different police stations to prevent them from making troubles such as taking out a procession or stage protests in the city to mark the anniversary.
The city police also tightened the security at problematic areas in the city as a precautionary measure. Police pickets were also deployed in sensitive places. Senior officials also monitoring the situation. The activists were arrested under section 151 (Arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences) of CrPC.
