Roads and bridges are symbols of development: Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy
Birkur (Kamareddy): Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday said that since the formation of Telangana a sum of Rs 1200 crore has been spent on building roads in the joint Nizamabad district.
Pocharam inspected the high level bridge and approach road, which are being constructed across the Manjira River near the Birkur mandal headquarters on Saturday. He said the cost of the bridge was Rs 70 crore.
The Speaker said that the spacious roads are symbols of modern civilization. The construction of the bridge over the Manjira River is almost complete. The contractor and officials have been ordered to complete the construction of the approach road by the end of September and finish the remaining minor works.
The construction of the bridge will provide better transportation to the people of Maharashtraand Birkur Zone and the adjoining Jukkal constituency, Madnur Zone. Along with the passengers, this bridge will facilitate transporting agricultural produce also.
