TRS leaders win in local body MLC election

TRS candidates Patnam Mahendar Reddy (Rangareddy), Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy (Warangal), Tera Chinnappareddy (Nalgonda) won in the local body MLC elections which were held on May 31. Mahendar Reddy won against Congress leader Kommuri Pratap Reddy by a margin of 244 votes while Tera Chinapa Reddy won with a majority of 226 votes.

The MLC seats fall vacant with the resignations of Patnam Narendar Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Kondal Murali. Narendar Reddy and Rajagopal Reddy resigned to their MLC seats after they won as MLA in the last assembly elections. Meanwhile, Konda Murali resigned due to his personal concerns.

Former minister Mahendar Reddy (TRS) contested against Kommuri Pratap Reddy (Congress) from Rangareddy. Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy (TRS) and Inugala Venkatarami Reddy from Warangal, Tera Chinnappareddy (TRS) and Komatireddy Lakshmi from Nalgonda are in the election fray.
