Kurnool: As per lockdown-4 norms, District Collector G Veera Pandiyan on Wednesday denotified 14 containment clusters out of total 51 in the district.

On the basis of risk profile, the district has been notified as red zone district, the collector said while speaking to media persons here on Wednesday.

With reference to Epidemic Diseases Act-1897, the status of containment zones are temporal and geographical in terms of activity level of the positive cases and demarcation based on the four factors includes mapping of cases and their contracts, geographical dispersion of cases and contracts, area with well demarcated perimeter and enforceability. On other hand, 22 more persons were recovered from Coronavirus and discharged on Wednesday. The collector said that of the 22 discharges, 3 are from a formal Covid care centre arranged at Chaitanya College, 5 from Sanitram Covid hospital and 14 from Viswabharathi Covid hospital. He further said that the total numbers of discharges are 469 in the district.

Following the protocol, the positive patients were tested samples for two consecutive times. During the two tests, all 22 persons tested negative with which they were discharged. All the discharged persons were given Rs 2,000 each following the Covid-19 protocol. The collector also visited several areas in the town and inspected the lockdown situations.
