200 officers and sailors from Eastern Fleet and Defence Civilians from Naval Dockyard take part in Marine HVAC workshop held in Visakhapatnam on Friday

A two-day workshop on Marine HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system was conducted by INS Vishwakarma in association with M/s Johnson Controls India Pvt Ltd. on October 3 and 4.

Visakhapatnam: A two-day workshop on Marine HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system was conducted by INS Vishwakarma in association with M/s Johnson Controls India Pvt Ltd. on October 3 and 4.

The workshop was attended by over 200 officers and sailors from Eastern Fleet and Defence Civilians from Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam. The theory phase of the workshop covered basic principles of marine HVAC systems and ship-borne design parameters.

During the practical training phase, onboard IN Ships Shivalik and Kamorta, special emphasis was given on the operation and maintenance aspects. Challenges faced with critical components such as ATUs, AFUs, HEs, AC plant, condensers, cooling coils, filters and 3-way valves were also addressed comprehensively during the workshop.
