AP govt. saved Rs. 108 crore through reverse tendering in liquor shops: Dy CM Narayana Swamy
Deputy CM Narayana Swamy said that the government had saved Rs. 108 crore through reverse tendering on the orders of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Deputy CM Narayana Swamy said that the government had saved Rs. 108 crore through reverse tendering on the orders of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. He told in a media conference on Thursday that liquor shops had been rented out in the past and that the same had been brought to the attention of CM YS Jagan to which he ordered a reverse tender on liquor shops.
"Reverse tendering was imposed on liquor shops as per the order of Chief Minister YS Jagan," minister said. In this context, the government has saved Rs 108 crore from the rent of belt shops this year as compared to last year. In 2019-20, two of the shops were paid Rs 671.04 crore but now only Rs 562.2 crore was paid for the year 2020-21 through the reverse tendering, which is about 16.22 percent of funds were saved by the government.
The minister also said that the reduction of alcohol consumption has significantly decreased the risk of crime in the state.
