The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to hire rented buses for express and rural services.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to hire rented buses for express and rural services. Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has invited bids to hire coaches. Tenders have been opened for the 80 Express and 159 Palle Velugu buses. The APSRTC Chief Traffic Manager issued a notification in this regard.

APSRTC bids were invited for 31 buses in Anantapur district, 15 in Kurnool district, 27 in Chittoor district, 10 in Prakasam, 22 in Guntur, 20 in Krishna, 31 in West Godavari and 65 in the East Godavari and Visakhapatnam 14 respectively. The last date to file their tenders is December 17. The auctions for the applications is scheduled to be held on December 20.

However, APSRTC union leaders have objected for the hiring of buses. APSRTC JAC Convenor V Damodar Rao questioned how the government would issue a notification before the completion of APSRTC merger in government.
