The AP government has said it will complete the elections of all local bodies by March next year. The state election commission, meanwhile, plans to hold panchayat elections in January. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to make a key announcement in the next Assembly session on the future of the capital villages.

After YS Jagan became CM, there was some stagnation on the capital. However, the latest announcement made at the CMDA CREDA meeting at the CRDA has raised hopes among the farmers that Jagan's decision to go ahead.
