Candidates told to follow code of conduct in Ongole

Speaking at the Prakasam district police office on Tuesday, the DSP said that after the notification of elections, certain restrictions came into force in the sub-division.
He explained that the candidates submitting nominations to Ongole assembly constituency should file them before the returning officer in RDO Office, for Santhanuthalapadu assembly constituency to the returning officer in Chimakurthy, for the Kondapi assembly constituency to the returning officer at Kondapi.
He said that the candidates submitting nominations for Ongole parliament constituency should file them before the returning officer in the collector chamber and for the Bapatla parliament constituency, they should file the papers before the returning officer in the joint collector chamber.
Murali announced that the rallies and processions of the candidates should stop by the mark made at 100 metres distance from the returning officer's office and only five people are allowed to walk to the chamber of the returning officer and file the nomination.
He said that as per the MCC, the candidates should not use firecrackers of DJ music systems in the processions. He said that the permissions for the rallies and processions for the candidates for nominations will be given on the first come and first serve basis.
If two or more candidates want to file nominations on the same day, they will be given different time and route map to reach the office and they must abide by them, said the DSP.
He said that the nominations can be filed between 11 am and 3 pm on working days and asked the candidates to make note that March 23 and 24 are public holidays.
He asked the candidates of all parties to follow MCC and cooperate with the police department to conduct the elections peacefully.
