The central government has allotted five new IPS officers to Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh government has confirmed that five IPS officers of 2018 batch of civil services have been assigned to the state. Among five bureaucrats, two from Andhra Pradesh one from Bihar, one from Delhi and the other is from Rajasthan respectively. The five IPS assigned to the Andhra Pradesh cadre are as follows.

KV Maheshwar Reddy, Andhra Pradesh

Komi Pratap Siva Kishore, Andhra Pradesh

Shafqat Amna, Bihar

Sunil Sheeran, Delhi

Rahul Meena, Rajasthan

After the partition of Andhra Pradesh state in 2014, the centre has allotted IAS and IPS officers to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. However, with some of them opting for central services, there is a shortage of civil servants in the state.

The state government has written to the Union Home Ministry to allocate IAS and IPS officers to the state. With this, the Center has issued orders for the latest allocation of IPS officers.
