Vizianagaram: The police arrested a gang comprising habitual offenders and chain-snatchers and recovered ornaments worth Rs 10.8 lakh. Addressing media, SP B Rajakumari said that P Venkatesh and Ch Mahendra of city were caught by CCS police when they were moving in a suspicious manner in Ganta Sthambham area and questioned them.
During interrogation, the police came to know that both joined hands with four more offenders involved in various chain-snatching incidents. The police recovered 300 grams of gold and other ornaments from them. Police is searching for J Ajay,I Sai, S Rehamat and S Jilani who are absconding. The accused also lifted two motorcycles.
