Guntur: Former chief minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu said that he will try to see that the Anna Canteens are reopened. Members of AP Anna Canteen Employees Association, Viswa Brahmana Sangam and contract employees who were removed from service in the animal husbandry department met Naidu in the TDP state party office here on Tuesday and explained their problems.

Speaking on the occasion, Naidu expressed solidarity with the Anna Canteen employees' agitation and extended his support to them and assured that he will mount pressure on the government to reopen the Anna Canteens. He found fault with the State government's decision to close 210 Anna canteens feeding lakhs of poor people in the State.

He also pointed out that Minister Botcha Satyanarayana had announced in the State Assembly that the government would continue the Anna Canteens. Naidu said that the TDP would extend support to those who fight against the anti-people's policies of the YSRCP government.

Naidu pointed out that the YSRCP government was adopting policy of retrenchment in various departments ever since it came to power. He also expressed concern over the growing attacks on the TDP activists in the State.
