Excise officials across the state have launched attacks on those who are producing Gudumba at 512 acres from last 11 days. Officials estimate that the destruction of the marijuana plant to produce Gudumba has caused a loss of 76 crores in the open market. The police said that they arrested 15 persons and registered 13 cases for producing illegal Gudumba.

According to police officials, the officials have reportedly destroyed 84,115 litres of gudumba and filed 4010 cases on illegal shops in the last five months. The deputy chief minister and excise minister K Narayanswamy asserted that the women are pleased with the government bringing strict rules on running of the wine shops in the state.
