The heavy rains in Rayalaseema districts created havoc and led to heavy floods. The floods have resulted in the excess inflow into the reservoir in the Rayalaseema. The Srisailam dam gates were lifted three days back to leave the excess water to the sea. But as the rains continue, the Srisailam Dam is left with excess inflow once again on Thursday morning.

On the other Hand the severe rain in Anantapur for last two days due to the depression in the Bay Of Bengal, the inflow to the Sunkesula Reservoir has increased. 90 causes excess water from Sunkesula and Thungabadra left to Srisailam. 14 gates were lifted to leave the water to into the sea.

With Hydroelectricity is 80,000 cases of water from Srisailam is left to irrigation canals. Similarly, 78,289 cases of water is being discharged to Nagarjunasagar by using two power houses.
