Giddalur: The first time voter Anitha from Nallabanda bazaar in Giddalur is all disappointed when she found that her first vote is already cast by some impersonator. But thanks to Section 49P of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, she filled the form 17B and utilised her right to vote by tender vote.

Anitha has her vote in polling booth number 202 in the Yadava Bazaar in Giddalur. As the first time voter, she excitedly entered the booth but shocked when the polling officer asked her, how many time do you vote?

She challenged and convinced the officer and polling agents that she came to the booth for the first time and she said that she wants to use her right to vote. After a discussion, the polling officer made her fill in the Form 17B and offered the tender vote.

The tender vote of her is locked and sealed away, and only counted in the case where the margin of votes is zero and her vote only can decide the winner.
