Korukonda : Agriculture Department assistant director ABK Mallikarjuna Rao said that farmers can use harvesting machines if necessary, to complete the works as early as possible.

Along with mandal agriculture officer A Gowri Devi, he visited paddy fields in Korukonda and Munagala villages on Friday. He said that due to bad climate, the farmers should speed up their work to protect paddy produce.

He asked the farmers to spray 40 kgs of salt in one acre of paddy and use tarpaulins to protect the yield from the rain. The farmers should use farming implements available and get suggestions from the agriculture officials as per need.

The department officials were ready to serve the farmers and update their knowledge to use agri machines, he added.
