Kurnool: A pregnant woman who had gone missing a month ago, was detected buried in an agriculture field on Monday. The incident took place at Mugamaanu Gudi village in Holagunda mandal. The deceased was identified as Veena (26).

According to information, Veena was married to one Basavaraju of Mugamaanu Gudi some time ago. They were agriculture labourers. Since some time Basavaraju was suspecting Veena's character and they used to engage in heated arguments. However with the intervention of family members the issues used to subside for the time being.

But Basavaraju hatched a plan to eliminate her. With the plan he killed her a month ago and buried in his agriculture land. Pretending that he did not know anything, he had lodged a missing complaint with the Holagunda police. But the family members of Veena were suspecting Basavaraju and his family members behind her missing.

While the police was investigating the case, some villagers informed the police that some foul smell is emanating from a pit at Basavaraju's agriculture land. Police rushed to spot and unearthed the body. The family members of Veena have identified the body to be her daughter. Autopsy was conducted on the spot in the presence of police and revenue department personnel.

The Sub Inspector of Holagunda police station, Y Vijaya Kumar said that the woman who had gone missing was detected buried in the farm land of Basavaraju. A case under relevant sections was filed and took up investigation. He said the woman gone missing was carrying five moths pregnancy.
