Chittoor: YSRCP Rajampet MP P V Midhun Reddy said that drinking water will be supplied to the district through Gandikota reservoir with an estimated cost of Rs.5,000 crore for which Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given the green signal.

Speaking to media men at Punganur on Thursday, he said that drinking water scarcity has become a major problem in Chittoor district particularly in Punganur Assembly constituency. ``Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, as representative of Punganur Assembly Constituency has taken the number of steps for solving the issue. The dream of establishing an RTC depot at Punganur will become a reality due to the initiative taken by him," the MP said.

The MP further said that there was no funds crunch for the state government for completing all the pending irrigation projects. Steps have been initiated to fill up the HNSS water to all the 160 irrigation tanks in Punganur constituency, he said. Chittoor MP N Reddappa, DCCB Chairman M Reddamma, Madanapalli RDO Murali, Punganur Commissioner Varma and others were present.
