he Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) council has unanimously accepted the budget of Rs 357.45 crore for the year 2019-2020 which was tabled by mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai in the last council meeting held here on Tuesday.

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) council has unanimously accepted the budget of Rs 357.45 crore for the year 2019-2020 which was tabled by mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai in the last council meeting held here on Tuesday.

The opening amount was shown as Rs 61.79 crore, where as the closing amount shown as 46.81 crore after deducting the expenditure. Of the total budget, the income was Rs 275.66 crore and the expenditure on various heads shown as Rs 310.63 crore. When compared with last year budget, this year an amount of Rs 71.75 crore was increased in the budget.

Later, the Mayor said that it may be the last council meeting as the tenure of the council will be expired in the first week of July. During five years, the corporation executed many development activities in the city and received laurels from the people and put its efforts to make Rajamahendravaram as clean and green city.

BJP MLC Somu Virraju, TDP urban and rural MLAs Adireddy Bhavani and Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary underlined the need to spend the allotted amounts judiciously for the development of the city.

Commissioner Sumit Kumar, additional commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao, city planner M Vara Prasad, superintending engineer Om Prakash, manager T Srinivas and other staff were present.
