The Collector assured them of instructing District Educational Officer (DEO) Pandu Rangaswamy to look into the issue. APUWJ district secretary V Krishna said union's general body meeting was held in which several resolutions have passed for the welfare of working journalists. He expressed anguish that journalists are unable to pay huge fees for their children studying in private schools.

"We have requested the Collector to exercise his powers for providing 50 per cent fee concession to the children of the working journalists," he stated. Krishna mentioned that other districts in the State are offering fee concession to wards of scribes. The general body meeting presided over by union's district president Murali Mohan.
