Vijayawada: Talla Nischal and J Nandika won medals at the chess tournament held at Nellore, according to T Naresh, coach and secretary of Spark chess academy here on Friday. He said that Spark Chess Academy players won prizes at the International Open and below Fide rating chess tournament held at Nellore from April 22 to 26 and below 1600 rating tournament held from April 27 to 29.
Talla Nischal studying in Class IX at St John's School won bronze medal in Under-9 category at Nellore cup international open Fide rated chess tournament and secured 4th place in Under-9 category in Nellore cup international Fide rated (below 1600) chess tournament.
J Nandika won silver medal in Under-9 category in Nellore cup international open Fide rated chess tournament and secured bronze medal in Under-9 category in Nellore cup international Fide rated (below 1600) chess tournament. He said that both the players received Rs 5,000 cash prize by the academy present Kakani Lokesh.
