Women performed special pujas to Goddess Sri Lakshmidevi on the occasion of Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratham on the second Friday of Shravana Masam at Kanyaka Parameswari temple.
Guntur: Women performed special pujas to Goddess Sri Lakshmidevi on the occasion of Sri Vara Lakshmi Vratham on the second Friday of Shravana Masam at Kanyaka Parameswari temple. They performed pujas with kumkum and flowers.
The women believe that those who perform Vara Lakshmi Vratham will be blessed with sowbhagyam, longevity to husband, sufficient money and happiness. In a almost of all the temples, the women wore new silk saris and decorate hairdo with jasmine and rose flowers. The temples were decorated on this occasion.
Women performed pujas to presiding deity Sri Lakshmidevi at Asta Lakshmi temple in Arundalpet. A large number of women gathered and set up Kalasams with coconuts and performed pujas with kumkum and offered flowers. Vedic pandits chanted vedic hymns on this occasion.
