Vijayawada: Private school teachers urge government to set up fund for welfare

Vijayawada: State private schools teachers welfare association leaders said the teaching and non-teaching staff working in private schools had been facing many hardships during this lockdown period due to lack of income and requested the state government to set up fund for the welfare of the private teachers. The association leaders on Thursday submitted a representation to Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani in Gudivada and narrated their problems.
The association state president M Dinesh, general secretary K Anand and honorary advisor Syed Yakub Pasha and others met the minister and said the teaching and non-teaching staff working in private schools had been facing many financial problems due to closure of schools for three months and they were not getting salaries.
The leaders said it will take another two months to re-open the schools and get the salaries. They requested the minister that the state government pay Rs 10,000 financial assistance to the teaching and non-teaching staff as they had been facing hardships due to lack of salaries. Responding to it, Minister Kodali Nani said he would take the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He recalled that the state government is implementing welfare schemes during the lockdown period even there is no adequate revenue to the state government.
