Visakhapatnam : As part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Tribal Cultural Research and Training Mission (TCR&TM) conducted a one-day training programme on ‘Legal Orientation on Implementation of Land Transfer Regulation (LTR)’ to the officers of tribal welfare and revenue department here on Thursday. Joint director of tribal welfare B Mallikarjuna Reddy, who chaired the programme, said the orientation on implementation of the LTR Act creates more awareness on the Act and its provisions of the tribal rights and entitlements to redress the issues related to violation of LTR in the scheduled areas.

Legal advisor and resource person for the training Palla Trinadha Rao delivered a lecture on legal orientation on implementation of LTR, PESA, and the powers of gram sabha in the scheduled areas. TCR&TM executive director G Chinna Babu said the training programme helps the upliftment of tribal people by effective implementation of constitutional provisions and protective laws also protect them from the violation of their rights and entitlements.

Assistant project officers (G) of ITDAs, Seethampeta, Parvathipuram, Paderu, Rampachodavaram, KR Puram and Chintoor, special deputy collectors, tahsildars and other officers of revenue department were present.
