VMC not to allow constructions on hills
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Rama Rao directed the concerned officials to take appropriate steps and ensure that no unauthorised structures were constructed on the hilly areas within the corporation limits.

As part of the city inspection, the Commissioner visited a few places in the city on Sunday.
He visited Moghalrajapuram Nimmatotha ground-level drinking water reservoir construction works and enquired about the details and gave a few suggestions for the construction of pumping and distribution pipeline.He also visited the hill area and enquired the residents about the garbage collection by the department workers.
He advised the residents to segregate dry and wet waste before handing over to the garbage collection workers.Later, the Commissioner visited 47th division (Satyanarayanapuram). On finding the electricity poles, pipes and other material lying on the road, he ordered the sanitary inspector to clear them and told him to impose a penalty of Rs 1000 on the building owner for blocking the road with construction materials.Deputy Executive Engineer N Prasad, sanitary workers and others accompanied him.
