His range of films from 1947 to 1982 may not have been many. Yet his films featured the popular stars of the time and managed to hit the bull's eye, most of the times. Satya Dev Narang or S D Narang (1918-1986), directed 15 films and produced 9 of them.

In the late 1950s and 1960s, his films were featuring Kishore Kumar, who was a popular singing star of the time and in 1958, he had two hits – the blockbuster ' Chalti Ka Naam Gadi' and the other film ' Dilli Ka Thug' produced and directed by S D Narang which had soulful numbers.

Biswajit was featured in the film ' Shehnai' in which Mohammed Rafi's songs tilted the film in favour of a successful run. His other films during that tenure had Madhubala and Pradeep Kumar too.

In the 1970s, he featured Sachin in the film ' College Girl' as he was a rising star among the youth at that time. Today is S D Narang's 102nd birth anniversary.
