Telangana inter board to issue notices to colleges over false information
The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) will issue show-cause notices to the colleges over false information, said the board secretary Syed Omar Jaleel on Friday.

Jaleel said that some of the junior colleges were publishing false information in the media with respect to the intermediate results to attract the students for admissions. In a statement issued to the district intermediate educational and nodal officer, the BIE said that they found some of the colleges are showing false information in the media regarding the college toppers, rankers in towns and districts and more to attract the students.
Jaleel directed the officials to issue notices to the colleges on immediate effect and warned of 3-7 years imprisonment along with Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh fine. The action will be taken against the colleges under the Telangana Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair Means) Act, 1997.
