Telangana State government has requested the Centre to sanction elevated corridors on the busy highways in the state. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday spoke to Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari over phone and urged him to clear the proposal to take up the construction of corridors at the cost of Rs 1,410 crore.

 The Supreme Court on Tuesday assured states and other petitioners that it would hear their plea today seeking modification of its December 2016 order banning liquor vends within 500 metres of state and national highways across the country from April 1.
