67-yr-old's fight to unclog drainage
Abur, 67-Year-old man, a resident of Madhuranagar spent one-and-a-half hours on Sunday morning, scraping, digging and sweeping out clogged drain water in front of his general store. Abur said he is in a fight against drain flow, to keep street clear and his surroundings dry.
Madhuranagar: Abur, 67-Year-old man, a resident of Madhuranagar spent one-and-a-half hours on Sunday morning, scraping, digging and sweeping out clogged drain water in front of his general store. Abur said he is in a fight against drain flow, to keep street clear and his surroundings dry.
"Every time as the drain flows will come out here and clean because I don't want to see my surroundings dirty," Abur said. "I had my broom and water which costs nothing. Cleaning is since youth days. I love to keep my premises clean."
"Now this drain slow down the flow. I can't wait till the GHMC comes as it would take much time and it may also take a day or two for GHMC workers. Only after repeated phone calls do they come and clear the drain. Until they do their bit, my little efforts would ward off insects and mosquitoes around my shop," says Abur.
