Basheerbagh: GHMC chief warns against illegal constructions
The Commissioner of GHMC, D S Lokesh Kumar threatened to demolish unauthorised ventures and constructions, while addressing the staff and officials during the weekly ‘Prajavani’ programme in the head office here on Monday.

Speaking after receiving public representations, he urged people to not to take up constructions in violation of LRS permissions. He said no building activity should be undertaken on sites where the GHMC had pulled down structures, while asking officials to immediately demolish such premises. Lokesh Kumar informed the GHMC staff to accept representations only pertaining to problems within the civic body limits. He asked them to strive with commitment for solving people's problems raised during the programme.
The GHMC chief felt that there was an increase in the pending issues after GHMC started accepting representations online. At the same time, those submitting petitions could be disappointed. Hence, Lokesh Kumar wanted the staff to inform those submitting petitions where their problems could be solved, while stressing that people should not be made to run round the offices.
