Bonalu celebrations were held on a grand note at Dandu Maremma temple located at Balamrai on Sunday. A large number of women presented Bonams to the deity throughout the day, from early morning.

Processions taken out by women devotees from other temples in Anna Nagar, Rasulpura, Begumpet and other areas reached Dandu Maremma temple. The celebrations were held on a grand note amidst cultural performances, bands and religious chantings, reflecting Telangana culture and traditions.
Prominent among those visited the temple during the celebrations include Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud, Labour Minister Chamakura Malla Reddy, cine actor Babu Mohan and others.
Temple founder Muppidi Gopal, the former market chairman, presented golden Bonam to the deity and offered special prayers on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Muppidi Gopal eulogised CM KCR for bringing special recognition to the festival after the formation of the new state of Telangana.
