Golconda: With climate change damaging the environment badly, the students need to be sensitised on the environment issues to save earth, said Khaleel Ahmed, president 3H Education Foundation on Monday.

Khaleel, who is also associated with Integral School & Team Environment, informed The Hans India that his organisation aims to bring a change in students by connecting their Head (mind), Heart & Hands through life skills and value-based education.

The foundation organises events with the objective of generating interest amongst the school children about the clear and present danger to the environment, because of the human activity. Hence the Foundation felt the need for holding competitions besides awareness programmes, which proved to be a successful effort, he said.

In a recent event the boys and girls of 15 schools from Tolichowki and Golconda area not only learned about the environmental concerns through practical approach, but also took active part in the competitions held on different subjects related to ecosystem.

The competitions were organised by the foundation to garner interests of young minds. They took part in 'inter-school competitions' where drawing, spell bee, mono acting, speech, songs on topics related to Environment (Waste Management & Water Conservation). The event was organised in Integral Foundation School, Tolichowki.

Later, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi, prizes were distributed amongst the students, who had excelled in different categories, by Dr Lubna Sarwath, Prof Anwar Khan, Dr Khalid Mubashir Zafar and Talath, director of the Integral school.

Even the guests present on the occasion also provided insights into the environmental concerns and maintaining sanitary. During the programme students were practically shown about the difference between wet and dry waste which should be segregated at home before being disposing-off.
